AVID SOLUTIONS is an engineering firm that focuses on industrial automation and information solutions, and so we take software and hardware and put them in to systems that control manufacturers process.

Building our facility was really a journey. There were certain things that were very important to us such as sustainability, technology and making it a great place to work. We wanted the best light possible with the latest technology.

Quality lighting is very important with what we do here. About 80% of everything we do is done indoors and on computers. The LED Lighting really augments the natural lighting that is available and seamlessly integrates with that as the lighting changes throughout the day.

We have notice a huge reduction in glare, eye strain and overall fatigue from the employees.

It feels natural and you feel more awake, relaxed and focussed, and you don’t have to take as many breaks throughout the day. LED Lighting definitely helps and it makes the management more happy.

We have already begun to use LED Lighting Technology with our industrial clients. They have environments where safety is a big factor, they require to be able to see at a detailed level and intelligent lighting is important to our business in a few ways:

• It makes it easier to manage,
• We are able to optimise our lighting and
• We are able to optimise our energy efficiency.

Reducing our operations costs (electricity bills and charges), is increasingly important in what we do.

We have organised all of our interior office lighting in to zones.

It has allowed our operational costs to be reduced by taking advantage of Energy Efficient LED Lighting, when it is needed and also, reducing the lighting output when it isn’t needed.

Between daylight harvesting and motion sensors installed in to the lighting plan, it has certainly minimised the use of our electricity.

One of the best things about walking in to the offices was that the lights were automatically coming on when walking in, I think some of the engineers really get a kick out of that happening.

Certainly LED Lighting Technology is very cost effective and in addition, maintenance is very important to us.

Previously, we were having to constantly change and replace light bulbs and tubes which becomes very costly over time, so it is nice to actually have a lighting solution where we are not constantly changing bulbs all the time.

Our clients are facing the convergence of IT (information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology).

LED Lighting technologies, play right in to the convergence of IT and OT.

Energy Efficient LED Lighting is providing light on the factory warehouse floor, and being able to interface with systems at a much higher level in the IT space.

One thing we liked about the entire process is that we were fully informed of the implementation and local incentive programs to upgrade to Energy Efficient LED Lighting.

We were also supported during the commissioning of the Office LED Lighting, and above all, it turned out to be a very easy and smooth process to upgrade to LED Lighting.

Overall, I have been extremely impressed.

There has been a huge difference to the quality of the lighting from the old fittings to the new LED Lights installed.

I can say that the light output is of much higher quality and the look aesthetically, is leaps and bounds above that of standard fluro or incandescent light globes.

Now with the installation of LED Lighting, where ever you go, we have the best light possible that we need.
